It Pays to Ask...

Before the addition of a new baby comes the addition of a lot of stuff...baby crib, dresser, changing table, glider rocker, clothes, stroller, car seat, bassinette, crib bedding, high chair and the list goes on and on...So I am trying to be the good wife and not go crazy and spend all this money on brand spankin' new items since most of these items can be found hardly used as they are outgrown by their owners quickly. We have purchased most items new but I found this irresistible deal on craigslist for a stroller and car seat combo that I had actually just been looking at through Target. I arranged the pick up in a parking lot off of 494 and happily bought the set. It was not until I had gotten it home that I realized suddenly that the previous owners had unmistakably been smokers...heavy smokers I believe... I hadn't even though to ask if the items came from a smoke free home...arrggg...
So after pulling out the electric drill and unscrewing every piece of fabric, dowsing in baking soda for a day and then washing them numerous times, they are finally clean to my nose...but I will for sure ask about the smoking factor next time I attempt a great deal off on pre-used items.

I am finally finished with painting the baby room so I thought I would post some pictures. There is more work to be done as far as additions to decorate the room...but the foundation is laid.
