More like pure stupidity or the inability to learn from previous mistakes.... I was at a conference yesterday for MN language arts teachers in which we were given a lunch break. I was excited as I was in my old stomping grounds of Roseville and figured I could hang out, go to the mall or some shops while eating my lunch (that I had packed from home). I enjoyed my time of freedom from a day of teaching and was in a pretty bright and lighthearted mood...maybe a little too much so...
I got back into my car on the road on the north side of the Roseville mall next to the AMC and began driving down the road only to feel the all-too familiar jerking and sputtering of my car as it rolled to a silent stop at the edge of the road. Perfect!
Just perfect...I had exactly 10 minutes until the start of the next meeting and there is no slipping in late and unnoticed. There were only 12 people in the meeting, including myself.
So in my high-heeled boots (which I only wear out of guilt for buying them because they are the most painful footwear I have ever purchased) I walked half a mile in the snow...literally...the sidewalks were not yet plowed...to the nearest gas station to get a gallon of gas.
Long story to the point...I arrived 45 minutes late to the next meeting, smelling like gasoline ( some had dripped on my pants on the walk back), and a bit disheveled from the long walk to the gas station and back to my car.
I had turned down a few offer of rides from concerned or crazy citizens driving by...a few of them were pretty sketchy looking and smelling...one car as it's front window was rolled down poured out billows of cigarette smoke...no thanks...I'll walk.
Oh well, I got some fresh air and good exercise...:)

Oh girl! I won't say anything...I'm dying too...but I won't. :) I think that you need to get a gas alarm or something like that!
