I'm back!!!!

They say memory is lost when you go through a pregnancy and I can prove it. I had completely forgotten I had something called a "blogspot" until just a few weeks ago this December! I mean it was never even a thought in my mind to post a blog over the last 8 months or so. But then for a fleeting moment I had this revelation that I did indeed have a blog to attend to and so here I am...a few days before Christmas no less. Most of those who read my blog know mainly what is going on in my life but just to make sure, here's the scoop:
  • I had a beautiful baby girl named Elliana Marie in June who is 6 months now and cutting (weird way to describe it) her first two teeth! I won't even say the cliche about time and flying but oh is it true!
  • Mike and I decided it would be best for our family if I stayed home once she was born, so I no longer teach at the middle school in NP but am now the student, learning how to be a mom to this precious gift from God.
  • We found out Mike has several food intolerances so our eating habits have changed drastically (for the healthier) and we've introduced a few new vegetables to our diet that I didn't even know how to pronounce let alone cook with before. Yes, we have become those juicing freaks who shop at the natural foods store...
  • I have joined a MOPS group through our church and am really enjoying new relationships and growing with other moms.
  • And on a more personal and yet encouraging note for me...6 months after - I weighed myself this morning and am back to my pre-baby weight (which isn't the same as pre-baby shape by the way) which means I have lost 55 pounds. Now if I can just make it through Christmas without putting it all back on :)

It's funny how life is just as busy these days as pre-motherhood but in such a different way. I don't have a huge list of this year's events to rattle off like trips overseas or exciting new hobbies(unless sewing counts?...no didn't think so) I've taken up but just the day-to-day routines are enough of an adventure that I sure have not found myself in the dilemma of boredom. In fact I don't know if I have ever had as much excitement and joy in my life as I do right at this moment of life.

Hope everyone has a Merry Christmas in Jesus Christ our Lord!
